CLASSES and EVENTS

Neal invites you to join him in a ZOOM “Prayer Lodge”
Friday, May 1, at 6 p.m. EDT (Buffalo, NY time)

Neal treasuresIn this time of change and “social distancing,” we do not have to practice “spiritual distancing” as well.  In fact, one way to do just the opposite is by joining in prayer by the ZOOM link.  Here are the details:

JOINING US:
-Download the ZOOM app or program (It is free)  For this lodge, no pre-registration is needed.  Just do this:
-between 5:50 pm and no later than 6 pm on May 1st do the following:
-Click on “Join a meeting”
-Type in the meeting ID which, for this prayer lodge, will be 872 7606 1415
-Then a password box will appear
-Type in this password:  348986
You will then be put in a virtual “waiting room”.  I will enable this to happen around 5:45 pm on May 1.
I will see that you are in the “waiting room” and click on you to join me in the lodge no later than 6 p.m.
I will “lock” the lodge meeting at 6:02 pm, so if you get to the site after 6:02 pm, you will not be able to join us.
You will be on “mute” but please share your video if you can.  I will unmute each of you so you can offer a short prayer or comment near the end of the ceremony, which we will call the “5th Door” or “Whirlwind Round”.
The whole prayer ceremony should last under 2 hours. You can walk away from your computer anytime (no one will know ) but if you sign out you won’t be able to get back in because of the ceremony being “locked” after 6:02 pm.

ENHANCING YOUR PARTICIPATION:
Although not required, you may get more out of the ceremony if you have these 5 things made or ready before the ceremony and near your computer or phone:
-On one string, tie 11 orange (or red) ties, followed by 11 turquoise (or blue) ties.  Here are youtube links to my 3 part “how to make prayer ties” video if you don’t know how to make them:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwT4YZdmUXw&t=91s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAbl6S2hxvM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lg0hSNe7_yk
-A cup or glass of water (We’ll use this in the “first”, or “West” door.)
-some sage to use as a smudge and/or to put behind your left ear so you can hear Spirit better.  We’ll use this for the second part or “door “of the ceremony (North)
-a candle that you can light for the “third door” or “East door” during the ceremony
-a stone or crystal for the 4th door. (South)
DISCLAIMER to those whom my late friend Ed McGaa called “scorekeepers”:
I was directly guided to offer this “Prayer Lodge” ceremony on ZOOM by my Spirit guides and helpers.  In no way should it be considered to be under Lakota Wóopȟe nor Ojibway nor Seneca etc. “Rules”. or “customs”.  Everyone is welcome to join us in prayer, including women on “Moon Time:” 🌛  I can’t really call it a “sweat lodge”  because no one except me and maybe a helper will actually be sweating. 🥵  But the Spirits promised to come and help all of us linked by zoom meeting in this way at that time.

PHOTO: The above photo was taken today (Monday, April  27) before sunset here in my sweat lodge circle.  The drum you see just came in today.  I contacted this website:  https://southlakota.com and  I asked Shilo Clifford to handcraft me this drum.  I had it custom painted by Shawna Sneath there.  I also received the designed T-shirt you see there.  On the T-shirt are 2 medicinal tinctures made by Shilo and available at   https://realnativebotanicals.com    The “Recover” tincture in the red bottle there is made with Osha.  I took it and…  my mind immediately flashed back to good memories of praying in many ceremonies.

OTHER UPCOMING POSSIBLE EVENTS OF INTEREST

Lakota Language Class online starts May 3.
Here is a copy of an e-mail I got from my friend Greg in Vermont:

Hi Everyone,
Vinny decided to postpone the start of the online Lakota Language class by one week to give people a chance to sign up. It will now start on Sunday, May 3rd, and run for 8 weeks.
The curriculum for the class will be geared towards our own interests as a group and learning Lakota language as it relates to ceremony & culture. Vinny will not offer this intro-level course multiple times, but rather is interested in helping us as a group continue to learn and develop language skills and understanding over a period of time. Classes will be recorded each week, so if you miss a week you’ll have the chance to make it up. Learning will be progressive and there will be ways to measure your learning.
To sign up for the course, people will need to PayPal Vinny ($160 per person – couples will need to pay separately) and put your email in the PayPal message. Originally the Zoom link was going to come from me, but now Vinny will be sending it out. Vinny’s email is alessinarr@yahoo.com. You will need to sign up and pay by Saturday, May 2nd.
If you cannot pay by PayPal, you can send a check to Pispiza Wounspe LLC, PO Box 6012 Custer SD 57730.

We’re really excited, and looking forward to a way to consistently learn Lakota!
-Greg

Looking ahead to summer,

MAYBE things will go on as planned, but I will keep you updated in future e-mailings.  It may also be that many things may be canceled or changed to online ZOOM activities:

There is a Sun Dance here July 10 to 20.  Contact Bill Koehler, the leader, for details.  ( willdaleko@gmail.com )  Arrivals for camp start July 10.  Preparation days July 11 to 14.  “Tree Day” is Wednesday, July 15.  The dance itself is July 16 to 19 with the breaking of camp Monday, July 20.

Mychael Shane will be here doing readings and seances Friday, July 10 to Monday, July 13th.  Seances will be evenings at 7 pm for $100. As soon as Mychael sends the theme for each one, I will let you know.  One night will be billet readings, another will be the production of “apports” which in this case will be small gems from the Spirit world given as gifts to those in attendance.  Another one will be a ‘trumpet seance” where an ascended master will answer a question from each attendee.  During those days, he will also be available for individual or group seances and readings.  Private readings are $130 for an hour.  Private seances are $175 with $50 extra per additional person up to 3 extra folks.   At this point, I think I will schedule the private readings and seances.  Of course, I will also take payments for reservations for the seances.

Warren Caylor plans to attend part of the sundance activities.  When he is here, and before Mychael goes on to do seances in Erie, PA we plan to have a joint seance!  Warren may do an extra seance or tow after that depending.  Further details “last minute” may follow.

Tandem Seance:
Physical Experimental Seance with both Mychael Shane and Warren Caylor at 7 pm Tuesday evening July 14th.  Who knows what exactly will happen?  Admission is $150.  Room for 18 attendees.  Full refund if the event does not ‘materialize’.  Otherwise, a $25 non-refundable cancellation fee until July 13th.  No refunds for next-day cancellation.

Rebecca Anne LoCicero https://www.rebeccaannelocicero.com/ ) will be offering “Messages from Heaven” here at my home at 7 pm Saturday, July 25th.  This “gallery style” mediumship event is $25 per attendee up to a 20 person maximum.  Contact me (Neal) for reservations.

Gary Mannion:
-Sept 18th Friday at 7 pm:  Seance at TiOmime’.   Most likely you will see amazing work by the Spirit team in moving the seance tent and in levitation and materialization.  Fee $100.
-Sept 19th Saturday:   Workshop on trance leading to physical mediumship.  Contact Sue Barnes to sign up.  Her e-mail is susanbbarnes@gmail.com  (note there are 2 “b’s” in the middle of that address)
-Sept 20 Sunday at 7 pm at Tiomime’ (Neal’s place) Healing seance.  While Gary is entranced, his guide will offer healings and prayers for those in need.  Fee $80
-Sept 22nd Tuesday at 7 pm;  Seance similar to the one on Sept 18th but of course no two seances are alike.  fee $100.
-Sept 20 through 22 during the day:  Private healing sessions with Gary and his Spirit team.  These last over 20 minutes or more.  $50 per session.

PREVIOUS EVENTS – 2019

Lily Dale Season 2019
The catalogs are out.  If you did not get one and would like one or more, contact the office at info@lilydaleassembly.org and give them your “snail mail” address where you would like these sent.  You can see the entire program online at
https://lilydaleassembly.org/events/

Lily Dale sweat lodges summer 2019
Here I will “copy and paste” what is found on the bottom right side of page 13 in the catalog and on the .pdf download of the catalog.  Also on the website when you put “sweat lodge” in the search box.
Open Sweat Lodge Ceremonies (for 2019)
Scheduled with various leaders. Meet at Lily Dale beach, rain or shine.
First Come, First Served – No Registration
“First come-first served” sign-up starts 2 hours BEFORE the time scheduled.  Sign up directly at the lodge area at the beach. No text or e-mail requests allowed.
Lodge ceremony is one way to connect with the Spirit Realms and the Divine.  Lily Dale’s lodge is a structure made of saplings bent over to form a small dome high enough to crawl and sit up in. Usually, about 24 people are able to squeeze in to form 2 circles around the center.  Red-hot rocks from the outside fire are brought into the center “Stone People’s pit”. Water is poured onto them, creating a “sacred breath” which helps us to center and pray.

The lodge ceremony can last from one to several hours, depending on the lodge leader and the needs of those attending.  No two ceremonies are alike.  Appropriate attire for Lily Dale’s lodges includes shorts and a T-shirt, although some leaders prefer women to choose the more traditional long (below knee) skirt and a T-shirt that covers the elbows. Please bring a towel and a dry change of clothes. No bathing suits, please.

Attendance is “first come, first served” (see above) up to 23 participants. We do reserve the right to turn away people whose presence may be disharmonious in the group. If there are enough “latecomers” after the first 23, and there is interest, there may be another lodge about 2 hours after the original one.
There is no fee for participation, but goodwill offerings to defray costs are gratefully appreciated.
Please note: Inside the lodge, it can get very hot and crowded. Most leaders do not permit women on their “moon time”(menses) to go inside.  Ask them.  If you have any health concerns or concerns about the health of other participants (e.g. HIV, Zika, etc.), please discuss them beforehand with your doctor. Participation is open, voluntary, and “at your own risk”.

-Saturday, Aug 17th lodge* 5 pm Spider and Caney Circle

*for Spider’s lodges: The entire ceremony includes fire lighting and teaching and lasts well after dark.  Bring rattle, food or non-alcohol drink to share for feast after lodge (including your own utensils and cup), and a medicine bag if you have one.  Women on “moon time” are welcome in Kansi ceremonies.  Before attending, it would be good to prepare by checking out www.spidersmedicine.com   Elder Miguel Sague’s site is  http://caneycircle.owlweb.org

**The Healing Fire takes our thoughts and prayers out to Spirit. When we gather at the fire, we become renewed in body, mind and Spirit. As part of the ceremony we will be sharing the sacred pipe and placing our healing sticks into the fire. Please bring a drum or rattle if you have one, and food to share for after the ceremony. This is not a sweat lodge or bonfire, but a sacred ceremony of introspection. Please dress for evening weather. Men, women and children are welcome to the July 29 fire.

Mychael Shane
  In Lily Dale:
-July 14 evening Billet readings (AMAZING!)
-July 15 all day workshop Masters of Mediumship
link:  https://lilydaleassembly.org/events/?tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=list&tribe-bar-search=Shane

at TiOmime’ (Neal’s)  All seances (mostly in total darkness) start at 7 p.m. sharp. All are $100 per attendee.  Be there at least 15 min early. max capacity 19. Contact me (Neal) to sign up.  docneal@me.com or call.  The order of these may change, but I will know in a week or so.
NOTE:  There are preparations for a sundance going on at that time here, so be respectful of those who are preparing for ceremony, and drive past the dome to park for the evening activities in the dome.
-July 12 (Friday) Trumpet seance. (This may take place in Lily Dale … I will update location as the time draws close.)  An ascended master ( maybe Lady Nada) will speak through the seance trumpet.  Each attendee will get to ask a question which will be answered by the master.  There will be apportation near the end of the evening and if there are enough, everyone will get one as a gift.
-July 13 (Saturday) Hands-on-Healing.   During the seance one of the Ascended Masters will materialize and place hands on you for healing.
-July 15 (Monday) Seance.  During the seance, St. Germain will imprint his hand in wax.  There will be a lecture from him or one of the Ascended Masters.  Jesus will produce a special object.  There will also most likely be apports for each to take with them.
-July 16 (Tuesday)  In the lighted room, there will be billet readings ( AMAZING in my opinion) as well as apports produced for those attending.  If there is time some “platform readings” will also be given;.
Readings available during the days when Mychael is here.  I can put you in touch with his helper to schedule if interested.

Warren Caylor physical medium
Warren will most likely be here is mid-July.  Here are tentative dates and activities:
Friday July 19th  Physical seance in Lily Dale 7 p.m.  This is part of the Friday evening ‘Spiritual Experiences” series and will either take place in the seance room above the Leolyn Hotel, or in the Octagon building.  Fee is $100 to attend this or one of the ones at my home.  They are amazing experiences which many find hard to believe (just like I did) at first.  I can assure you there are NO “tricks” involved to produce this display of amazing physical phenomena courtesy of Warren’s team of Spirit helpers and the Spirit World.
Saturday July 20 and Sunday July 21.  Seances at TiOmime’ (Neal’s home) 7 pm each night.  $100 per person except Sunday evening for those who participated in the Sun Dance here.  Please be respectful of the Sun Dance people. The dance is on-going until Sunday afternoon.  Please respectful of traditions you may not understand and do not go anywhere near the Sun Dance area if you are a female on “Moon Time”.  Come to park on the far side of my hose and go directly into the house.

Sundances
There are various ones going on including one here at TiOmime’ in mid-July, one at Potato Creek, SD in mid-June, and one near Binghamton, NY in mid-August.  I can direct you to the proper folks to contact if interested.
Kai Meugge is here October 10, 11, and 12!
All activities begin at 7 pm at my dome home in Cassadaga.  If you are interested in attending, let me know.  You must read over and agree to the information I will send you if you want to reserve..  All folks are screened by Kai and Julia Muegge.  They must approve your attendance.
Thursday October 10th:  “Initiation Seance”
$100 per attendee. (there was a misprint in the last e-mail I sent out.  The fee is $100) Limit 17 attendees.  Attendees will be involved, and Kai and his Spirit team will work outside of the cabinet for the most part.  It can be a lot of fun to learn and interact.
Friday October 11th:  “Cabinet Seance”
$150 per attendee.  17 person limit.  This is conducted by Professor Hans Bender, who was a German parapsychologist who passed to the Spirit World in 1991.  He will trance though Kai.  He and the team of “alchemists” will most likely demonstrate many types of physical phenomena.  “Initiation Seance” is NOT a prerequisite however.
Saturday October 12th:  “Cabinet Seance”
This should be similar to the Friday night activity, but of course no 2 seances are ever alike!  $150 per person with a 17 person limit.
Package deals:  Combine the “Initiation Seance” and a ‘Cabinet Seance” for a total of $225.  Combine all 3 (1 “Initiation Seance” and 2 “Cabinet Seances”) for $370.
Not until September 18th will I begin collecting payments by check, credit card or PayPal.  $25 of that will be non-refundable if there is cancellation for any reason.  In case you yourself die, come visit during the seance 😉.   Your estate will get back the fee minus the $25 non refundable portion.

Donation & Gifting Guidelines:

For all those of us that will be attending for the whole four days the cost is $200. If you are just coming for the day we suggest a $50 donation. It is best if donations are in the form of cash.  These donations are going toward the teaching and mentoring times, and make it possible for Karen and Vinny to be here to share this knowledge with us.  If you would like to participate in the teaching and mentoring times and can’t afford it please contact us and we can arrange something that works for everyone. Greg will collect donations for the weekend.
For Ceremony, there will be donation baskets out at all times at Greg’s house and at the clinic. The suggested donation for an Inipi ceremony is $20,  and the suggested donation for each Lowanpi is $50-$100.

Please remember that there is no charge for ceremony, and that if you are unable to donate much, you are still welcome to participate. You may also give more than what is suggested. It is best to offer a generous donation not only to take care of the medicine man, but because what we give is what we get out of the ceremony.  An offering starts the reciprocal flow of generosity in our lives. If you have questions about this please feel free to ask.

Lowanpi Guidelines:

Plan to arrive at 7:00pm at Two Trees Healing Center( 1037 Western ave.in West Brattleboro) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings for Yuwipi & Lowanpi Ceremonies. The ceremony can last 3-4 hours. Check your email for potential changes.

Like most Lakota ceremonies it is very important how we prepare ourselves prior to attending. We all have an impact and a place in ceremony and it is important that we arrive with clear intention and an open mind or ‘beginner’s mind’ for learning and being receptive to what may be unfamiliar for many of us. Once we decide that we are going to attend, the ceremony has already begun and it is a time where we begin to align with the spirits and clarify and deepen our own prayers. The main part of our prayers are in support of those who are praying for healing and sponsoring the ceremony. We also bring our own prayers and will have a moment to voice them out loud during the ceremony. We are encouraged to make prayer ties, at least 7 and of any color.

Again, your own preparation very much affects your receptivity to the energies of the ceremony once it begins. Take the days leading up to find opportunities to get quiet and centered in yourself and especially focus on your own prayers.

In a sense we are all co-creators of the ceremony through our intention, energy, and prayer we bring to it. If you are new or are attending Lakota ceremony for the first time, it is ok to come out of curiosity or a desire to observe.. But realize the difference of coming with an open mind and heart rather then a passive spectator’s mind. I hope this helps a little with how to prepare.

What to bring and general preparation:

– Bring a pillow or camp chair to to sit on
– Don’t wear anything with shiny or reflective stuff on the outside
– All participants must be free of alcohol or other substances for at least 24 hours
– Bring snacks for before the ceremony

Women on their moontime are requested not to come to the ceremony, however are welcome at the Wopila after the ceremony is over. This could be very late at night. Prayer support from a distance is also very important and helpful. It would be very helpful to know ahead of time if a woman on her moon will be coming to the Wopila (after the ceremony).

**As always, the timing of the weekend ceremonies & workshops are subject to change.

About Vinny:

Vinny Narr grew up in Sicily and Germany and moved to America as a young adult. As a teenager in Sicily, he was aware of the spirit of a buffalo with a human face that followed him around. When he described this to some Native Americans who were visiting an Army base in Germany, they suggested he learn about Native American medicine ways on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. There, he participated in sun-dances and learned about Lakota (Sioux) ceremonies from several medicine people and elders.  In doing so, he became very familiar with many Lakota (Sioux) ceremonial songs and also learned how to speak Lakota.  The buffalo spirit he saw as a youth still works with him, and is joined by other spirits in his ceremonies as well.   He has been over-seeing vision quests, yuwipi and lowanpi ceremonies, and a sun dance in Germany for over 30 years.

Lowáŋpi Ceremonies and Lodges in October 2018

Friday, October 12:  Teaching at noon, Lodge at 4 p.m, Lowáŋpi at 7 p.m. At TiOmime’ (Neal’s place)

Noon: Join Vinny Narr (bio and more info below) as he teaches and answers questions about shamanism and related subjects from noon to 4 pm.  This is an informal gathering and your freewill donation directly to Vinny in appreciation for his teaching is suggested.

4 p.m.  Join Vinny and up to 20 of us in a sweat lodge ceremony in the sacred circle of trees at TiOmime’.  Please let Neal know if you plan to come.  Use the e-mail that this was sent to you from, or text to 716-665-0768.

7 p.m.  This Lowáŋpi ceremony takes place indoors in Neal’s dome home.

We have room for about 18 people to join in for this amazing and sacred ceremony.  There are several purposes for this ceremony. Our friend Kara has been helped by the Spirits in previous ceremonies, and she is helping to sponsor this as part of her Wóplia (saying Thank You) to the Spirits.  Falcon, another friend, is also praying for healing. And you yourselves can join in with prayers for your needs. To help “amplify” your prayers, you can bring at least 12 prayer ties to the ceremony.

There are many YouTube videos on making these. Here is the series of them that I have made:

Here are the specifics copied from the description for this:

Native American Healing Ceremony
Sunday, October 14th
1:30 pm until about 3 pm
Octagon Building
$30.00 donation
Join Vinny Narr in a healing ceremony done in a traditional Lakota way. The Lakota are a branch of the Teton Sioux and the tribe depicted in the film Dances With Wolves.

We will sit in a circle on the floor, or on chairs for those who find it difficult to sit.  Vinny will explain about the ceremony and some of the Lakota traditions. After smudging the room, traditional Lakota prayer and healing songs will be sung to the beat of the drum.  A sacred pipe will be filled with an herb mixture (no tobacco) as the spiritual powers of the 4 directions and the universe are invited to help us with our prayers. The pipe will then be passed around the circle so each of us will have a turn to offer prayers for help and healing for ourselves, as well as for friends and family.  Those uncomfortable with drawing on the pipe need only hold it in a sacred way to offer their prayers.

Neal, president of Lily Dale, will assist Vinny with drumming and song.

Those of you who wish can augment your intentions and prayers by bringing 12 red tobacco prayer ties to the ceremony with you.  These hold your prayers and intentions during the ceremony and can be collected and burned for you in a sacred fire 4 days after this ceremony.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  In a traditional Lakota healing ceremony, prayers are used to bring in life-force.  Because women who are having their “period” (moon time) have a releasing of the life force preparation in order to renew it, that energy process does not mix well with what is being done.  Therefore, women on moon time are asked to respect their own energy activity thenand to stay away from the pipe ceremony.

Vinny Narr grew up in Germany and moved to America in the mid-90s. As a teenager in Germany, he was aware of the spirit of a buffalo with a human face that followed him around. When he described this to some Native Americans who had stationed at an Army base in Germany, they suggested he learn about Native medicine ways on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. There, he participated in sun-dances and learned about Lakota (Sioux) ceremonies from several medicine people and elders. The buffalo spirit he saw as a youth still works with him, and is joined by other spirits in his ceremonies as well.   He has been over-seeing vision quests, yuwipi and lowanpi ceremonies for over 25 years.

Sunday, October 14th

Sweat Lodge and Wopila ceremony

4 p.m.  Sweat Lodge ceremony at TiOmime’  (Neal’s)  Vinny will lead it.  ..room for 20 maximum.
7 p.m.  Wopila ceremony indoors at Neal’s dome home.  Room for 19 maximum.  This is similar to a Lowáŋpi ceremony.  Wopila means “Thank You”.  The Spirits asked Vinny to gift to Neal the pipe you see pictured at the top of this e-mail.  As a “Thank You” to the Spirits, Neal is sponsoring this ceremony for you.  Everyone who attends will receive a small ‘thank you” gift from Neal as well.  There is, of course, no charge to Neal for this ceremony, but any gift directly to Vinny to help him out in his work with the Spirits for us I am sure will be very be appreciated, but not required.  Please let me (Neal) know if you plan to attend.

October 20-21st in Vermont and Western MA
Yuwípi, Lowáŋpi, and Wópila ceremonies, lodges, and workshops.
Vinnie and his singer Tom are at Greg Carder’s in Vermont then.  For further information, contact Greg at cardergreg@gmail.com

Later this fall maybe…
Many of you signed up to participate in Yuwipi ceremonies and other activities with Warfield Moose in August.  For health reasons, he needed to postpone those activities.  He has indicated that he may be back in early December and also in the early spring to do a few of those ceremonies that some of you were looking forward to.   When I hear from him I will keep everyone posted.

New Year’s Eve 2018
Usually, I have a sweat lodge over midnight on New Year’s Eve.  You go into the lodge in 2018 and come out in 2019.  At this point,I am still planning to have one this year, with a feast (reveillon in French) to follow.

Wind Daughter is also doing a Pipe Carrier’s Dance the following weekend ( Aug 23 to 26 see flyer at the bottom of this e-mail)

Warfield Moose, a Lakota Yuwipi man, does a workshop on the Wiping of Tears ceremony (Ištámni Wičápakiŋta pi) Sunday, August 19 in Lily Dale.  For more information see https://lilydaleassembly.org/events/the-wiping-of-tears-ceremony/
He will also be doing several different ceremonies at my house.  Each has a waiting list at this time, but if interested, you could check with me for details.

John Two-Hawks will share Wisdom from the Sacred Hoop Saturday morning August 19th in Lily Dale ( https://lilydaleassembly.org/events/of-earth-sky-wisdom-from-the-sacred-hoop/ ).  He will also give a concert in the Lily Dale Auditorium that evening. ( https://lilydaleassembly.org/events/john-two-hawks-concert/ )  A few of you getting this email will be following me to my home after that for a late night yuwipi ceremony with Warfield.

Here is a schedule of sweat lodges in Lily Dale this summer.  Both Wind Daughter and Rick McBride will be doing one.  There are still 6 lodges scheduled before the end of the summer season of Lily Dale.  https://lilydaleassembly.org/schedule-of-events/open-sweat-lodge-ceremonies/

Vinny Narr is a European “medicine man” with Lakota and Siberian Spirit helpers that work with him during ceremonies.  His Siberian ancestor shaman helper asked him to gift me the čhaŋnuŋpa that you see in the picture at the top of this e-mail!  Vinny has used this pipe himself in ceremonies for 18 years, and it is a great honor to be gifted it.
When one receives such a gift from the Spirits, it is customary to put on a Thanksgiving celebration, called a Wopila Ceremony.

Sunday, October 14 I will sponsor the Wopila Ceremony.  It will either be at my home with a limit of 19 attendees or possibly in Lily Dale with a limit of 34 attendees, depending on interest.  I will keep you posted if you let me know you are interested.  There is never a charge for this type of ceremony, and I am providing for Vinny’s airfare, food, and lodging.  But Vinny also has a family and home to care for in South Dakota, and one day of ceremony won’t do much for the time when he gets back there, so consider a “Thank You” gift to give him and his Spirit helpers for being able to be part of such a celebration.  Especially if you want to offer prayers that you would like answered, this “energy exchange” is important. “You don’t get something for nothing”.  Call me to reserve your spot.

Saturday, October 13 Vinny will be in Cleveland to do aLowaŋpi Ceremony for a group of folks there.  If interested in finding out more, contact Mark Zore at mark.zore@yahoo.com

Friday, October 12 Vinny will be doing a ceremony for Kara at my home.  Contact me for further details.

Vision Quests and Lowáŋpi Ceremonies:

…How do I write about these ceremonies in a way that won’t offend and yet will educate?  As with all native ceremonies (yes, even the expensive lodge building workshop in Lily Dale) there is no charge for the ceremonies themselves.  But the leaders of these can’t live and survive on “tobacco offerings” alone.   They have spent countless hours and years learning to help others by using what the Spirits have taught them.  In addition to the transportation, food, and lodging expenses of their stay, they also have to go back to feed families and pay the mortgage!  In the “old days” traditional natives understood these needs and the “medicine men and women” were well taken care of.  They, in turn, took care of others.  These days, folks (even some natives) don’t seem to do that anymore.

I have already paid the roundtrip airfare for Vinny’s July visit.  I hope that I can get enough in donations to pay myself back and still offer Vinny a decent amount for his time and effort to come out here for us.    The last time Vinny was here, in February, the donations to him were not very generous.  I felt that I could not take out of those donations the $760.00 I had spent on airfare to bring him here.  So I gave that to him instead of keeping that part of the donations given for the ceremony to reimburse me. But I am now retired and cannot afford to subsidize ceremonies out of my own pocket anymore.

Without a decent honorarium, there is no incentive for folks like Vinny or Warfield to leave their homes and families and spend the time and effort to travel here to help.  Without a decent offering, I also end up paying for hosting them and arranging all the details.  So there is no incentive for me to keep doing this either.  The same is true for Warren and Mychael and other mediums I bring here for seances.  But because they are not doing native ceremonies, I can get away with asking a fixed fee for folks to participate with them.

So here is a suggestion:  I ask $100 to attend a seance with Warren Caylor or Mychael Shane.  So I will ask that I get $100 to attend one of Vinny’s ceremonies too.  Yet I realize that if there is a grave need for someone to attend, I would hate to turn them away because they could not afford $100.  So if this is you, feel free to call me to discuss a “sliding scale”.  Also, know that the Spirits understand “energy exchange” which means where there is a great effort, there are great results.

The same “energy exchange” idea also has merit to consider when attending a sweat lodge.  There you pray for an hour or two.  If you went to a church for a Sunday service for an hour or two, what would you put in the collection basket?  Even lodges on the Cattaraugus Reservation ask you to consider giving something towards the heat and upkeep of the area.
OK.  I hope I have made my point.

CEREMONY PROTOCOLS:

Neal’s comments:
One thing I learned in medical school is that, even though medicine is a science, it is also an art.  So no 2 doctors (medicine people) think alike.  Each has their own “rules” and ways of doing things.  This is also true for those medicine people who do ceremonies.  And even with the same “medicine person”, the same ceremony may actually be quite different in some way from other similar ceremonies they did in the past.  This is the “art” of ceremony.  As we all know, the Spirit World inspires many types of artists.  They often give direction to the ceremony at hand.  So there is no “Dogma” in any of this.  But we asked you to check here for some things you should know if you attend one of Vinny’s ceremonies.  With that in mind, I’ll give a short “bio” and then some nuances you should be aware of when attending his ceremonies.  Since they are done in Lakota, of course, this widespread protocol remains true:   No women on ‘moon time’ should be present during, nor prepare any food before, these ceremonies.
Here is a short “bio” for Vinny:

He has been over-seeing vision quests, yuwipi and lowanpi ceremonies, and a sun dance in Germany for over 15 years.
When making prayer ties or cooking food for Vinny’s ceremonies, he requests you do so with no pets in the house if you are in the house.  Put food in the car where they are not, or make or put the ties there, or at least put ties in a plastic bag with sage after making.

OUTDOOR MEDIUMSHIP IN LILY DALE
This class is offered on two separate dates: July 11 and August 16, 2017
9:30am – 7:00pm  Fee: $100/class.  Limit of 6 participants.

Lily Dale offers one of the best places in America for mediums to develop, enhance and experiment with their skills. Both students and professionals benefit from their experience here. Join Neal as he facilitates our group to try new things and learn from each other.

Neal requires all participants to give at least 1 message in public at the 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. outdoor services. Our class will review various styles of mediumship and practice these on each other. We will observe these at the 1 p.m. Inspiration Stump service. Later, we will discuss what we have witnessed and practice our mediumship. We will participate in the other 2 public message services at Forest Temple and Inspiration Stump, and we will review our work after each service. This workshop is for intermediate or advanced students only. Payment will not be refunded. If you miss, the others will benefit from more 1 on 1 coaching.

TABLE TIPPING: Demonstration & Practice
July 13, 2017, 9:30am – 12:30pm  Fee: $50

This is a fun workshop for those who wish to expand their knowledge and experience of a practice that has been used by Spiritualists since the middle of the 19th century. It is an “experimental” workshop, which means there is no guarantee of what may happen.

What our circle would like to accomplish with you is to start off by giving you an overview of table tipping, a short history of our group, and what tables may best lend themselves to this kind of development. Then we will demonstrate how we work with the table. Hopefully, all of you will see complete mid-air levitation of the table in daylight conditions. After this, we may ask our Spirit team to do a few healings on attendees. Interestingly, this is something the team, through the instrumentation of the table, seems eager to do.

After a break, we will split up our circle members into groups to see if each group of students can get communication and movement of their own tables, which will be available. Bring comfortable shoes, an open mind, and a light heart.

The Harmonic Fellowship of Light circle is a spiritual development circle of 7 faithful folks who sit weekly for the development of physical forms of mediumship for the group and for themselves to share with others. After more than 7 years of regular sittings, a table they were working with (“table tipping”) began to lift itself completely off the ground into mid-air. Soon this was accomplished out of doors in full daylight! Communication with the Spirit team who helps accomplish this (including inter-dimensional beings) requested that this be filmed and put on Facebook for others to see. There this video has been viewed by over 1,500.

HEALTH & HEALING WITH ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES
August 22, 2017, 2:00pm – 5:00pm    Fee: $50

Full healing includes addressing all aspects of your being (Body, Mind, and Spirit).Edgar Cayce addressed these aspects in 9,000 of the over 14,000 documented readings he did in the first half of the 20th century. His advice is still relevant today. In addition, this workshop will “scratch the surface” of other complimentary therapies such as Bach Flower remedies, and relaxation techniques.

Have you ever had a healing inspiration or advice, but needed a coach to help you put those ideas into action? Dr. Neal will do just that. With him we’ll review some of the complementary “modalities” that assist well-being.

Mental attitudes and spiritual ideals go hand in hand with Cayce’s approaches, and will also be addressed. Certain crystals, massage techniques and devices were recommended for ideal healing conditions. We’ll go over some of these too. If you have specific problems you’d like discussed, a few of you may have an opportunity to bring them up as well. Although we may not be able to cover all of them, some will further illustrate the advice and principles recommended by Cayce for everyone.

We recommend you get a copy of the book: The Edgar Cayce Handbook for Health Through Drugless Therapy to bring with you to take notes in during this workshop. Copies will also be available in the Lily Dale bookstore.
